Steve,
Do you have any aged saltwater? Or can you get a few gallons of it, say from a water change. That will help reduce a cycle. Maybe get a cup of live sand and add to the new stuff as well. Man that is my worst nightmare. I had a 120g set up and got a water leak from a missing o-ring on the skimmer and it had a slow leak that got under the floor. By the time I noticed it, sold off most of the tank, and disassembled it I had $3500 worth of water damage and that was doing the work myself, insurance paid $0. Steve: DO NOT THROW IN THE TOWEL! I can tell your hooked! S*** happens! I was going to do the same thing, I was not able to sell everything and after all was said and done even the Mrs. missed the tank.
Gregg, I am using aquamend same as Colin, $2.48 at the Home Depot tax included. That pic was when I first set up the 10g nano after the 120 fiasco. With the xenia mount it on some LR rubble and try it in a few different places, I have stalks that love the flow and stalks that do better in low flow, same with lighting. Let your coral tell you where it wants to be. Xenia is still one of my favorite corals becuase of the movement.
Colin, can I swing by tommorrow about 6:30 or 7:00? I get home at 5:30, let me eat, change and bag the frag and be on my way. If not how is Friday same time?
