Ken's Animal House in Lake Geneva. This is the first time I ever bought from them. The tanks are dirty, full of bubble algae. He has a 20 year old reef, full of majano, that they claim they have never cleaned or have changed the water. I only bought this becuase they just got them in.

Yeah, check it out. I have been in there numerous times just to browse. The tank used to look neat. Then the majanos took over. You will see valonia aglea like you never seen before. I do like there selection of fish from time to time. In one of the small tanks there was the magnificent tiny red fish. I asked her about it and got a blank stare, she remove all the rock and there was nothing. It looked like the size of a neon goby. They also, have a purple dersa clam, beautiful. I could have spent more $. But given the conditions of the tanks and the no clean or water change policy. I am unsure. Will see how the crudegon does.

Alright, got back a little while ago from the LFS and I went a little wild. Got a firefish, purple/lavender acan, lobo, pretty big spawn, and a small hammer coral. After a little rearranging, it looks dynamite. Pics to follow shortly.

Now I need to make a bit of room for the red goni and 2 new zoas that Bryan is sending me.

Ohhh, also doing my first pickup from a local reefer tomorrow. A few small rocks with blue and pink mushrooms on them and a little rock with tan palys. He's making room in his tank, so I am getting the stuff really cheap.

I'll actually snap some pics tomorrow after I add the mushy's and palys.

Great choices Steve.

Give the frogspawn and hammer room from the other corals, they have sweepers that come out at night and can sting other corals.

Colin,

How much room do they need? The hammer is just a little guy, but he is pretty close to the green goni. As for the spawn, they aren't toooooo close to anything, but are a few inches from some xenia and some calustrea.

Few inches, if they are already mounted you can leave them but check the candycane and the goni every morning, if you see something wrong with them this could be the cause.

Steve, can't wait for the pics. I have always wanted a frogspawn. I always left the store with something else.

You will see a little retraction from the coral if it is getting stung.

Can't wait for the pics.

Colin, did you ever hear from rtbm? Did you take a drive to Ken's Animal House?

Tom

Here are the dusters , the clusterduster are more sensitive and only lasted 4 months all the other guys are doing well . They feed on phytoplankton , no lighting needs .basically just tube worms! I think the white and brown is Hawaiin and the purple and white are from the Phillipeans, but I am not sure!

smketyr , cool goby never saw that one before. you will probably see him at feedin time that usually tempts my goby out!
Every ones tanks look great! I Gotta get some more corals!

How often do you guys clean your glass ? I get a lime green film in 24 hours . Is this something I should expect with the PC lighting or will it eventually simmer down?

Amazing feather dusters King.

I get a good algae buildup after a couple days. I hit the tank with a microfiber cloth I got at the LFS every few days and do weekly scrapes with a razorblade to get the corralin algae off. Might want to checkout the nimble nano glass cleaner, designed for nano tanks. I have a mag float and thought it was to bulky.

I find nerite and cernith snails do the best job on the glass. Margarita snails are 50/50 between the glass and the rockwork.

If you can find some locally check out Stomatella snails. Nocturnal booger looking snails (They have a very small clear shell) that do a good job on the glass at night. They reproduce like crazy, start with only a few :)

Great pics of the feather dusters (my wifes favorites)! That cluster duster in amazing to bad it did not last.

I was told once that the fillm is sign of a healthy tank. I know that when I run the mag float alot of polyps open up. HTH

The fish did not come out with the feeding:( , I read that it will hide for awhile until it is comfortable. I wish I took a pic while it was in the back. I have not seen it since I released it into the tank. I got the last one, there was one on hold, she said I could have it if they don't get it by Sunday. If it is still there I think I am going to get it.

Colin, I love your description of stomellas:fun5: G man grandson calls them amoco's (spanish for boogers) picking his nose in front of the tank:eek: . Three years old and loves the tank.

Hey, have you used the frozen food feeder yet?

Tom

Don't worry your goby will come around !
Mine is finally getting used to a huge face two inches from the glass!
Fess up guys , all of you do the exact same thing ! Right?

I know I do!!!!!!!!!!

Guys,

Do firefish "sleep"? Just got back from a night out and I can't find the little guy I bought today. I thought he might be snoozing somewhere. I hope I don't have to take the rock apart for another "recovery".
