colinadam , I aready have exceeded the amount of characters in my signature, I guess i could just list what is in my cube and not my 55g.
wow ,those prices and s/h seem outrageous! Are they rare specimens ?
I know I am kind of new to this and really have no idea on pricing so I could be wrong!
I have been paying $30 to $40 for my stuff , of course it is pretty common stuff!

What is the most you guys paid for a coral and what was it?
just curious!

Colin, Cha-Ching!!! Cool new frags, something else for my new tank! I have been watching bad japenese movies and the mission impossible movies, for training purposes.

King, go to your member page. There is a link for avatars. I can't resize some of my pics to put a custom one in there.

smketyr, I know i am going to sound like an idiot but " where is the " members page"?
I found the "members" button above but yhat is just a list of members!

As for avatars it's under the options button when you go to My RC.

As for resizing you can act like your uploading a regular picture in photobucket but before you hit upload you can hit a button called "Uploading Options", it's a little blue button and you can upload any picture as an avatar sized pic.

Here's a shot of my tank as an avatar

Yeah the Purple Death is hard to come by and is one of the Paly's on my wish list. You think $50 is bad try paying $40 for 1 polyp and it never opening, now that sucks (trust me, I had it happen). Randy though is a good guy with awesome stuff so I trust him a lot more.
The Purple Death will join my PPE (Purple People Eater) which is usually the same price per polyp:

If you want to see something insane imagine the Purple Death as Lime Green instead of purple. Those are called Nuclear Greens, they are on the Pure Captive site under the "On the farm" section that Bryan is growing out. I am on the list for those to :)

Hmmm, most I've ever paid for a coral....that's tough. Probably one of my blasto welsi's, they are usually in the $75 range.

You guys buy alot in the mail , don't ya? That kind of scares me ! I have yet to try it.
I like to see in person what i am getting!
Gives me a good excuse to get out of the house anyway!
thanks for the avatar info, what is a good size?

Nuclear Greens

COlinadam, we should discuss the nuclear greens...i would love one of those! and would split shipping with you etc...discussion needed!

Any other suggestions as to nice corals that would compliment the tank?

Nice stuff. I have that same frilly mushroom at the bottom and that torch with the white tips is nice.

Didn't you get your chaeto from Twon? I would go back there and ninja his zoa collection, I got my favorite zoa's from him.

the green yumas in the last pic are sweet. I got one and consequently now have 8. they reproduce quickly. Just a word of caution. If ou plan on diving into LPS headstrong, limit your softies. Sarcophytons are known to secrete chemicals that stunt/mildly injure LPS corals. Personally the ONLY softies i have in my tank are anthelia, since i know they cant cause any problems and i cant get them outta my damn tank. They grow like weeds!

goodluck with the switch, you will find it is much easier to maintain balance with 3X the water :)

Yeah, I got my chaeto from Twon8...he lives not to far from me...about 10 minutes drive time...you know, I've never really took time to look at his zoa collection...I've always looked at the setup more than the inhabitants...I've really only looked at the big tank he has downstairs...I actually got my xenia from him too...it was about 1-1/2" - 2" tall when extended when I got it...today, I looked at it pretty close and it was about 4" tall when extended!!

As for mixing LPS and softies...I've seen lots of tanks that have no problems at all...personally, the LPS should be limited to the torch I'm getting and frogspawn I already have...well, I'm looking at possibly getting some flourescent green star polyps as well...other than that, mainly softies in the tank (Zoas, xenia, mushrooms, button polyps, etc.)

To make sure they don't get after each other, I was gonna make sure there is plenty of flow to dilute chemicals and also keep enough space between them so there isn't any competition...usually, corals don't go after other corals unless there is a competition for something in the tank (I.e. space, light, food, etc.)
