New Tunze broken, please help.

I just bought a brand new 6080 today. It worked the first time I plugged it in. I let it run for about 2-3 minutes. Then I unplugged it and figured out my mounting and all. Then after getting it mounted where I wanted it, I plugged it back in and nothing happened.

I fiddled with it for a little bit but could not get it to work. So I took out the impeller for a look and the magnet on the impeller is broken in 3 places. I am really disappointed, mostly because I can't see it work now.

I bought it from a dealer in Arkansas about 2 hours away while I was there today for Father's Day so it would be difficult to take back for repair. What should I do to get it fixed?

Thanks
Greg

You can send it in or if you are sure it is just the magnet I can send you one. The magnet breaks because they get to hot during assembly. If this happens they have stress on them and crack. It is a rather rare occurence but it happens.

I am pretty sure it is just the impeller because it worked briefly. I felt around inside the case with my finger to see if it was scored or anything but it felt smooth and undamaged.

If you could send me one, that would be fantastic. It would save the extra shipping time. I will PM you for with all my info. I also have pics of the impeller and my invoice so you will know I am not trying to pull a fast one if you would like them.

Thanks
Greg

The pic would be useful only so I get you the parts you need. The rest isn't necessary.

Thanks for the help Roger. I got the new magnet a couple of days ago and it is working beautifully now.

Well, more bad news. I came home today to find my Tunze was not running so I unplugged it and took off the cover and the propeller was laying inside. It snapped off. I wonder if something is wrong with it that is causing these things? It has been running great since you sent me the magnet until today.

How are you running it? Timer, constant, wavemaker? Their is no defect that could cause this. The two are not related.

Constant use. How can I get the parts to fix it? One of the clutches was inside the cover but one is missing. Is is possible to get the entire impeller? How much does that cost? You can email or PM me if you like.

Thanks

I will send you one, in general the broken shaft would result from an impact but if it was in constant use that is unlikely. I don't have an answer for what happened in this case.

Thanks Roger, you didn't have to do that. I would have paid for it. But it is very considerate of you. Do you still have all my info?

Thanks again
