Roger from Tunze USA just got an email from Mr. Tunze that the new tunze powerheads should be available in the US in about two weeks. Just got released in EUROPE two weeks ago.

Dan has had some of the non controllable ones allready the controllable 6105 will begin to trickle in but dont expect tons of them to show up until the october.

Just a few words of wisdom here. Be cautious when buying the first release items as soon as they hit the shelves. It never fails, a new product seems to always have a flaw that they just didn't seem to catch until the first few 1000 units are in peoples tanks. I know the 6045 and the 6055 units had a lot of issues after they were first released. I know I am looking forward to the revamped 6100 and 6200 series pumps that will be coming out soon. However, I plan to use the good ole rule of thumb patience on this purchase.

Just my 2 cents worth..

Amen to that sentiment. I would extend this piece of advice to just about every manufacturer out there. Personally, although not specific to Tunze, I have been severely burned by jumping on the newest and greatest.

thing is, with tunze, even if something goes wrong they will fix it as fast as possible.

i had issues with the 2 6025s that i purchased from Salty they were the first ones released and tunze ended up replacing the pumps quickly and just had me throw away the old ones.

also be warned the smaller stream 2s will not work on 1"material, you will have to purchase the larger magnets once they release the 6205

the 6055 once released was perfect but it came after the 6025 6045.

FWIW these came out in europe a couple months ago so they have worked out most of the bugs in regards to build quality.

cannot fault the customer support. You get what you pay for. I broke a cable housing piece trying to run the pump cable thru a small hole. Tunze replaced it for free with three day shipping. Now that is customer service that is increasingly difficult to find.
