NEW underwater camera Picture Intense

Neat! I may have to look into an underwater camera. Converting a 40D for this purpose is WAY to expensive. You can certainly get shots we simply can't, and some look pretty good! Cheers

what's that supposed to mean? you smokin little baby. you probably killed your dad to get those cig's. just kiddin. so what would you recommend for future pics and how to make them better?

lol :D

hummm change the camera or change the photographer JK :)

there are many settings you can play with - too many to mention them all. plus it also depends from the camera and the zoom you're using.

:D

i was using a macro setting and a super macro setting. i just found a ultra high resolution setting, that is higher than the standard 10.1 MP. i think that the camera is fine, just need to play more. the zoom is up to 3.6 optical, but is limited due to being internal. digital up to 5.0, but i wasnt using that.

the lens play a huge role when taking macro pictures, and unfortunately those point-shoot cameras aren't equipped w/ the best state-of-the-art lenses. but hey, you can't complaint anyway because you're still getting great pictures overall, even with manual settings!

do you have some pictures of your reef tank? :)

yes, but none with the new camera. here are ones with the old camera, and I will take some with the new camera tomorrow and post them too, so check back. i think the difference will be huge.

btw, i dont think there are any underwater cameras that arent point and shoot. it is just too hard to waterproof. i'm sure there are professional cameras, but i am not a professional, so do the best i can.

Very cool.

What did the camera set you back?

it is $399 at best buy. they price matched circuit city for $339, and i used $20 off best buy points for a grand total of $319.

they use XD cards. best buy sells for $50, they price matched fry's electronics for $25 each for a 2 gig card. bought 2 for $50.

total $369, cards hold about 800 pics each at 10.1 MP

I absolutely LOVE that Tomini tang... his colors are so dark... stop trying to convince me to purchase one.

Very nice fish. Love them all. The tomini is awesome. Thats one of the few that i have seen that have that good of color.

Here's some new pics, both of the whole tank and the tomini. Sorry the tank is FULL of micro bubbles until i get the sump next week. It really messes with the pics.
