Ok I got my new Vortech pump in yesterday and am currently in the breakin period.
It started out loud but we were told to expect this, it has gotten considerably better over the past 24 hours. (running at lowest setting)
Pump is manually controllable for speed, a controller is in the works as well as a battery backup.
The pump can not be aimed but I do not see this as a limitation. We're talking extremely broad flow with this, somewhere I read the flow pattern at 3 inches from the nozzle is 108 degrees. Don't know if the last part is really true or not, gotta be careful believing everything you read on the internet
Current price is $345 + shipping (somebody always ask so I'm just avoiding another post). What can I say I am a habitual earlier adopter, I also have two first year model vehicles in my garage.
So far I have picked on the "bellybutton" (as described by Ecotech) created by the manufacturering process--in fairness its hard gripe when all of them have this, just not what I expected on a pump this pricey thats all.
Also had an issue with the inside cover coming off today at lunch, we are still trying to sort this out. At this point I believe that I'm the only one to experience this.
This will replace 2 Seio 820's that have given me great service. I like the idea of getting these big powerheads out of the tank.
The bellybutton as it is called
