check out the wave2k

interesting...BUT...check out wave2k.com. see my post on my new wave2k. the water motion is incredible.

Hi Vin, haven't talked to you in a while.

I ordered the Sequence from AZ Ponds and made it a special order to get the saltwater seals. It also will be pumping from my basement. Because it's a closed loop I figure the only head loss is from the friction in the pipes. Hopefully no elbows until I hit the top of the tank and it's 1.5 inch piping all the way. So, I think there will still be a lot of flow and with only two outlets on the 8-way getting water at a time it might be too much. I'll have to think about having perhaps 4 at a time, maybe in circuit like 1-2&5-6, 2-3&6-7, 3-4&7-8 etc. I know I can throttle the pump back if I need to but I don't think it's good for the pump to pull it back too much.

I'm also looking at the wave2K, which is pretty interesting and doesn't need to much plumbing.

Planning my new tank is certainly taking a lot of time and i'm learning a whole lot. I guess getting there really is half the fun.

Mickey:

Sorry, I must have misread your post. I thought you were concerned about too much flow for the unit, not too much flow actually in the tank.

Pennoyer - No problem. I guess I'm talking about a little of both. I think the unit will probably handle the flow fine, but with two 1"outlets getting the entire flow at any one time, I figure that to be 3000-4000gph split to two outlets and that is an awful lot of flow through 1" piping. So I think I will need a different drum with more outlets at one time and I'll probably split each outlet via lockline at the end into two more as well. I certainly don't want to blow the joints.

I guess I can always get a smaller pump as well. Decisions, decisions.

Hey Paul!
Just wanted to say that my 8 way & revolutions are working great. Just wonderiing if you are comming up with any other goodies for my tank.

1" revolution is designed but not built, Nano 4 way is being tested and will likely be the next candidate for production, Rome took less time to build I know but there are only a limited number of hours in a day.

hope this helps

golf nut - i'm dying here man!! i NEED my pump from champion :D want to at least get this plumbed up...even though i won't run it till may :( :( :( just sucks having this SWEET unit siting there :(

Lunchbucket,

I got my four way yesterday and had just about finished plumbing every thing when I realized I forgot to buy a 1 1/2" adaptor for my pump and Lowes had just closed. It's been killing me since last night that I couldn't get it running. I can't imagine waiting a month.

brentp - LOL isn't that the way it always goes...you are mising one piece or run out of glue or pipe??

yeah this SUCKS :( :( 58gal RR sitting in my parents basement :(

Hey I was wondering if anyone else was dinged with U.S. Customs and importing fees? Ive ordered stuff from Canada before but never had this come up.

Regardless the heavy duty 4 way is very nice, & definitely worth every penny. There was some mix-up on the drum type when
I received it but Paul was quick in helping me out. I dont have it plumbed in yet, but soon I hope. Just have to do some electrical work on the wall behind the tank first.

Anyway maybe Ill post some pix once its plumbed.

DeskJockey,

Did you talk to Paul about the fees? I got it too but he informed me that it was UPS's fault and they had to send out the bill to cover their own a$$es. IIRC, you don't actually have to pay it.

If the US customs is anything like here in Canada, then if you don;t pay it then they might hodl something back in the future until you clean up the bill that you owe. Happened to me. I ordered something that got dinged duties of like $12, I didn't payit and about a year later they withheld another order until I cleaned up my whoel account with them.

Cheers!!

Pat

Hi Guys

I am still working with UPS, they admit to making an error in how the documentation was written up, this caused them to go through a broker which should have never happened, not everyone got dinged... Lunchbucket actually got dinged twice...lol like he deserves it! Maybe because my shipper addresed it to Mr Lunchbucket !

Bottom line is simple, UPS will try to retract the fees, if this doesn't happen I will refund ALL that got the bill and will have UPS give me a credit on future shipments as compensation for their mistake.

hth

Paul
