It's a lot less than plumbing 4 complete returns or 2 SCWDs. The 4-way has one central inlet and 4 outlets that can be plumbed as simply or as complicated as you like. Although this is not the ideal set up, it doesn't get much simpler than this: 4-Way Set Up(Note: about the 4-way)
I think it's great except for the fact of all the pvc piping it adds to someone's tank.
It doesn't appear to need any more than my single SCWD set up.you need a good amount of space behind the tank for all of it!
The Little Mermaid Aquarium from Walmart is plug and play. We are dealing with custom reef aquariums. Any good piece of equipment should allow you to configure it how you like.Plus the fact that we have to custom plumb it on our own (far from a plug and play setup)
Lebowski, you don't need a sump, you can run this unit in a closed-loop setup. you will, however, need a pump
