Where are you all buying your Sequence pumps from?

I got my Sting Rays from AZponds but they don't sell them anymore(only the ValuFlo--no SW seals). They do have good prices on the rest of the Sequence line which they will install SW seals for. For the Reeflo's I would go with MRC.

BTW, Dolphin Ampmasters are also good high flow low head pumps but they're seals SUCK.

I should have the 230v soon, I am working to get them sourced locally for a few countries, the plan would be to ship units less motors to say Australia for example and have the motors installed there, I would supply an adapter plate.

what country are you in?

guess what i got today :D

Lunchbucket..

Is that an HD blueline 30X pump?? If yes, does it have a fan?? How loud is the pump??

I am happy to see that you almost finished..!!!

TIA..

Custom Aquatics has the Sequence Stingray pumps in stock, with salt-water seals. I just got mine today. I'm waiting on a ton of dual-union ball-valves to get it plumbed in though. I'm replacing my old non-union ball-valves that have jammed on me. :(

Wow, I just checked the price on the Stingrays at Custom Aquatics and they are actually CHEAPER than AZponds was selling them for.:eek2: It would be a good time to get stocked up on them if you've been thinking about getting one.

Typhon - yes that is a Blueline 30HD-X or a PanWorld 50PXX they are THE SAME. Panworld is the manufacturer but blueline is champions selling name. it actually has the blueline numbers and the panworld numbers on it....just different sides.

i was surprised to find out that it DOES have a fan on it. NOT something i was expecting.

as to how loud it is....hmm i didn't have it in any water but i just plugged it in to see what it would do (like a kid just pushing buttons :D ) and it was QUIET but the fan does make some noise. not sure how much or how loud it will be when i get it set up though.

NOT done....but getting closer. i also got my hood on monday :D

Lunchbucket.. thanks for the info..

I bought an Iwaki 30 RLXT because I found out that the Blueline 30HD-X had a fan to cool the motor. I was planning to buy the Blueline 30HD-X because they are suppose to be quieter than the american made Iwaki. I just didn't know how much noise the fan on the Blueline 30HD-X would produce.

When you have it plumbed in can you tell me what you think of the noise??

TIA..

Typhon..

Typhon - sure can buddy!! when i plugged it in (<10sec) the fan sounded about like a Radio Shack fan...some noise. i don't think you would hear it much once i ahve it in the back of the stand and everything running.

i'll go to my rents at noon and stick the inlet and outlet in the LR tub and turn it on. that way i can see what kind of flow i am dealing w/ and i can see how loud it is.

they are supposed to be quieter than the Iwaki's. but i didn't know this one had a fan...this is my first REAL pump...so i am pretty happy...thing is WAY smaller than i thought it would be

Dead Sea Swirl - Time to bury it

Dead Sea Swirl - Time to bury it

First off, thanks for the replies on where to get Sequence pumps.

I've been planning a closed loop using one of Paul's devices, but my 2.5 yr old 1" Sea Swirl on my sump return died yesterday morning. It's the 2nd one I've had (the first didn't last as long) and opening it up, I was reminded of the poor design and quality of the thing. I know that's a pretty long time to operate continuously, but I just can't see spending another $180 to rent another of these.

So I've decided to replace it with one of Paul's units. Not sure which one or how it will be plumbed yet or if I will incorporate and of the Revolutions. At least it's a direction.

Anyone else feel the same way about the Sea Swirl and replacing them?
Mike

Lunchbucket.. good choice for a first external pump. If they are anything like the Iwakis then you should be good for years to come.

I might replace my Iwaki 30 RLXT if the Blueline HD 30X is pretty quiet. The Iwaki 30 is quiet ,but still makes a constant humming noise.

I've been running a couple 3/4" models for about a year now. They're still ticking(countdown until they die that is:D ). I really was amazed at the cheap design when I opened one of them up. It looks like they are only worth about $20-$30 in parts. Whomever it is that makes these is making a fortune. When I switch over to my new setup soon the sea-swirls are going bye-bye and then we'll bring on the oceansmotions and actuating ball valves.:smokin: The sea-swirls are great for what they do just not worth the price tag.
