New Yellow Pyramid Butterfly

Just picked him up from fedex this morning.... active little guy, he wanted out of the bag so bad he was pushing the bag around as it was floating.... so I let him out. Acclimated him for about an hour and a half then put him in my QT. His tail looks like someone nipped at it, but he's otherwise pretty good and healthy looking. I'm aware of the fluke potential, and I plan on a period of prazipro treatment but first I wanted to get the tail situation cleaned up, so I added some melafix to the water. He's still quite active in the QT, he started picking around at the bottom and the PVC, so I figured what the heck, let me try it.... sure enough, he ate some mysis. So he's eating right out of the bag, which seems to be the big key to the whole mail order fish thing.

they do not eat aiptasia, they are planktivores

My favorite fish! I have three. You're going to love him. He will get to know you quickly and swim up to the glass looking for food. Mine learned this faster than any other fish I have had.

How big is yours? Where did you get him?

I'd call him a healthy 3". I can never really get a good measurement. He's a good size, definitely a bit bigger than I expected, but I dont mind.
I got him from BlueZoo.... been on the look out for one of these guys for a while. I think LA has them in stock as well, but I've had good luck with BZ's livestock.

That's a good size. One of mine is 4". The other two that replaced the two that I lost (one accident, one Flukes secondary complications) are only 2 1/2". They're still in quarantine (arrived in poor condition) and will be grown out a bit. Then they'll all go into the 280.

Hawaiian pyramids eat aptasia. Most coming into the trade now are from Vanuatu i believe i get them from the Marshalls at 3-4". very nice butterflies!
