Newbie Apex question

Yes, as long as there are no repeaters in the cable. The Aquabus uses the same physical form as a USB, but it operates at 12V rather than 5V. The Unofficial User's Guide stickied at the top of the forum is a great place to start getting familiar with the Apex and accessories.

I don't know the answer to that. You might be better off locating the base module within reach of the reactor and extending the display unit instead.

there was some discussion a while back about extending BNC cables. The consensus was that it can be done with caution. You can google 'bnc extension cable' and find plenty of sources. You want a high quality (i.e. non-WalMart) M/F cable.

What I would do is make sure that you get the same reading with as without the extension which may require a temporary placement of your controller to do. If you don't, then either get a better quality extension cable or do without like Todd suggests.

how would I know if there is a repeater in the cable?

It will be obvious. Should say on the packaging, sometimes called a 'booster'. Also, you'll see it - it will be a big bulge in the cable, like a snake that swallowed a rat. Will typically only be on long (>25') cables. If you have one custom made (sources in the User Guide and a little bit of searching on the Net) you will be able to order with or without.
