newbie tank show.......

Looking good!
+1 on the par meter, only way to know for sure. You know that a maxima clam will outgrow your tank in time right?

NYG, i agreed with Lordofthereef. you are lucky that you do not have an algae boom. keep doing good and try to keep the tank free of them. i have been battle with my tank since the beginning so......not too fun to start out.

Cereal Killa, the clean vinyl tube is the return of my sump/refugium.

yes, i do know that a maxima clam will out growth my current tank. i am planning to go to a bigger size tank already once i buy a house.

there are saltwater stores in Alaska, many down in Anchorage. up here in Fairbanks, we only have 1 LFS and 1 Petco. both of them are not good. my DT looks much better than their.

and thanks everyone for the feedbacks, nothing is better than listen to everyone opinions and advices. happy reefing.

thanks, csal.

if i want to upgrade my light, should i go with T5 (4x24)? will this be enough for sps, lps? wattage will be much lower than what i have now by half. or should i go with MH (maybe a 250 or 150 with 2 65W PC)? any thought?

Be careful with those xenia, once they find stable conditions they like, they wont stop growing, and you will have to find more room for them.

well, so far so good, i look around the tank every other day to see if there are any xenia colonies exist besides the main one. i always take them out before they establish.

I defintly say you check out MH I had it before I got my Tek and I love the ripple effect! Heating isn't too bad if your not already having problems just a small fan will help. By the way what skimmer do you use? How do you like it?

oh sorry NYG, i use a Tunzel (1056) i think, the smallest rating one. it is doing good, extremely quiet. you have to put the unit inside the tank those. my located at the sump/refugium. see pic.
