Hi

I'm looking at octo's, I know some general info from reading alot of old posts, but here are some inquiries i still have, how much live rock do u have in the tank? Is a 36"long 18" tall, 12" wide tank big enough,

Serpant starfish are safe to have with a octo, what about when the octo's are young, are they safe with the star?

With a young bimac, would i be able to keep saltwater mollies? Personally I would like to have a bunch of these in the tank right away, cause they produce fry for the young bimac, and eat alge, and when he gets bigger he can eat the adults....

so what do u think?

I am by no means an expert, But I will tell you what I know.

The Starfish should be fine with the octo, No way IMO that a starfish would eat an octo of any size unless the octo was already dead.

Saltwater mollies? Do you mean a molly acclimated to a SW inviroment? Well, either way...The octo will eventually get them...Probably sooner than you think...I feed my baby bimac fish all the time and its mantel was the size of a quarter when i started to do this, I fed it a damsel...It was dead almost as soon as it hit the water. It never hurts to try though...What an octo will do is not always predictable, it varys tremendously from octo-2-octo

Oh, that tank size is also fine, It is over 30 gallons. I have one in a 29 right now

Also, as far as live-rock goes... You could get away with about
18LBS Live rock, and some dry base maybe...Its really up to you, Just make sure you have enoupgh to have good bilogical filtration...In theory, If you had good LS, you wouldnt even really need LR
