So does the newsletter meet club approval??? When will the rest of the members beable to view the 1st copy? :bounce1:

It was very professional looking, I'll say that. I'm not 100% sure what the outcome of it was, I missed the end of that discussion when I had to have my nicotine fix.

1st copy is content only.....no ads .....electronic mode of delivery.

So we can expect to be emailed a copy sometime soon?

On the topic of the newsletter...

I have Linda, Jaze, MichealG, and Xian all willing to write for the first newsletter. We set a deadline for entries at October 31st (or November 1st). I'll profile my tank for the first edition, but think about whose you'd like to see profiled for the upcoming issues.

Please PM me as soon as possible with the title of your article to confirm your participation.

Would anyone else like to volunteer to write?

For the first one I think we agreed to keep the format the same as the draft as well as keeping the dummy ad on the back page.

Once I have it laid-out, I'll present it to the Council for review.

We did discuss a bit about advertising and print vs. online. What kind of advertsing? How to be fair about it? How not to alienate any one sponsor? If print, how to deliver? If mailed, how to fund? Which briefly got us talking about membership dues. Blah, blah, blah, etc.

Did I miss anything?

As decided at the meeting, online only....for now, and the rest will be decided after the first finished copy. No advertising, everything is contigent opon other factors

To the Council, what do you think about bringing printed copies to the combo meeting next month (we can show them off to the HVRK group)?

IMO ....if no cost to the club is incurred, yes otherwise keep it online. If they are interested we can post the link and they could just download it too.

I agree.

pdf downloadable would be great from the CDMAS.org website!!! Lets start getting some traffic over there. Joe et al, are you guys tracking hits? Will need this somewhere down the road, and gives an idea of interest. People should be referred there rather than here on RC IMO....

agree 100%

I agree as well.
I'd like to see our own forum one day instead of here on RC (RC should only serve as a link to re-direct - just as HVRK does).

I can see the benifits of having our own forum....

Now this is a very good idea and I'd love to see this happen :)

I set up my own forum at http://www.vivariaforums.com/ and it wasn't that hard to do. It did take my entire christmas break though!

I guess I don't see a real reason why we need one. If it's to exclude people off the site, that opens up a whole new can of worms of what the justifications are for doing that.

If people are unhappy at RC for some reason, reefs.org or other places are more than happy to do it. I have no problems with staying here though.
