Next Bay Area Group Buy?

Just follow around Gresham to whatever events he goes to for Reed Mariculture (or is it Reef Nutrition the offical name??) I'm sure you can pick up free samples at each event :)

After being educated, I am gonna dump that rotifers's cube to try the rotifeast & Arcti pods, so I am up for these as well.

Not sure if you know this yet, but the RK2 is releasing firmware updates in mid August and a datalogging firmware in September. You also have PM.

HOW ABOUT SOME TUNZE EQUIPMENT? I NEED 2 6100 STREAMS AND A 7095 CONTROLLER AMONG OTHER THINGS. ALSO SEA SWIRLS AND OCEAN MOTIONS?

And being as the current mindset for BAR is not to offically engage in group buys as this is something that could potentially cause loss to the status as a NPO I wouldn't hope too highly on a BAR sponsored buy, especially since these products are available at a great number of stores.

Loss of status? You (BAR) lost that for the most part all ready ;) You (BAR) can't give any tax brakes to anyone for their donations :(

second on Tunze. I need 7095 and one more 6100.

I have one 3/4" sea swirl for sell if you need it.

I have a resale licence to sell your products, I dont quite understand why you would not sell to me, and only to clubs, as far as I know you sell to distbutors of your product not end users. Should I be speaking directly with Randy?

This is best left for other means of communications Nicolas, ie. email or PM. Feel free to email/PM me or Randy, you'll get the same response.

Actually as a 501c4 it would be fine for BAR to participate in organizing group buys. The reasons that we don't generally organize group buys is because they are a PITA and take a whole lot of work. A company doing a club group buy once a year might be workable, but this should be discussed on the BAR forum.

This is primarily due to the IRS looking at BAR and this forum during our application for NPO status. We had to switch to 501c3 because, among other things, there were too many sales and group buy threads which means that the club seems to exist to benefit the member, not to benefit the organization (club). A 501c3 is supposed to work for the benefit of the organization. Most NPO reef clubs should really be 501c4, but the IRS doesn't seem to look too closely at clubs after NPO status has been granted.

Then our GB offer is perfect for 502c3 as part of the fianl invoice is donated back to the club :D Some one start the thread, I'll jump in :D
