Next C-SEA Meeting

I was just wondering when the next meeting would be. I've missed the last few due to army and work. Being how it's not posted on the home page thought I'd ask to see if it's been put out yet.

Its typically the 3rd Friday of each month. I believe the next meeting will be on 9/19. I am not sure what the program is. We will likely have an board meeting sometime in the next couple weeks and will certainly work to get the site updated.

I have sent my registration in, is there any way to check that it has been recieved?

The guy that would have gotten the registration is the Membership Chairman John Janda. His screen name on RC is Bowman. He checks the forums very frequently and should let you know as soon as he can.

Probably would make more sense to have a Jan. and or Feb. break. The July August break goes back to when we met at a college that was closed for the summer and the July and August meetings were held at a pool and club house in a housing development that two of the members lived in. Then they stopped and the summer break started.

Summer months seem to be down months for tanks though...Everyone outside enjoying the weather. Makes perfect sense to me to have a club break then.
Winter everyones inside working on tanks, looking at tanks ect. Fish tank season I'd call it
IMO

I agree. Winter months I am all couped up so there isn't much to do but fiddle with my tank and shovel the driveway. Sure it makes getting to the meetings a little more adventurous. However, thats why we live in Cleveland.

I'm not sure that there really is a perfectly sensible time to have a club break, aside from the seasonal non-availability of a meeting place. Even though more people ought to be going on vacations in the summer, the fish clubs that meet 12 months a year can have their best attended meetings in the summer. And if summer is the time we are most prone to slack off on our tank management and enthusiasm, then all the more reason for a fish meeting to stir our interest back up. The clubs that do take a break at times take a month or two to get back fully into the rhythm. I somtimes think that taking a club break is a bad habit like cigarettes or thumbsucking - hard to break once you've started. And saying that with all sympathy for smokers, thumbsuckers, and club break takers.

It has been said, I can't vouch for how true it is, that speakers would rather fly into some warm sunny fish club meeting place and not be greeted by Cleveland's sometimes interesting winter weather. Well, that should be reversed in the summer months. The perfect weather has moved here for the season and then who wants to fly south into 120 degrees, hurricanes, and earthquakes?

ughh im all for winter break instead of summer... try driving an hour & a half in a blizzard to get to a meeting! no thanks. :)
