I was just wondering when the next meeting would be. I've missed the last few due to army and work. Being how it's not posted on the home page thought I'd ask to see if it's been put out yet.

Probably would make more sense to have a Jan. and or Feb. break. The July August break goes back to when we met at a college that was closed for the summer and the July and August meetings were held at a pool and club house in a housing development that two of the members lived in. Then they stopped and the summer break started.Originally posted by alix2.0
ah. thanks. yeah i didnt know about that, so i figured i missed last month's meeting & wasnt sure about this month. thanks.
I'm not sure that there really is a perfectly sensible time to have a club break, aside from the seasonal non-availability of a meeting place. Even though more people ought to be going on vacations in the summer, the fish clubs that meet 12 months a year can have their best attended meetings in the summer. And if summer is the time we are most prone to slack off on our tank management and enthusiasm, then all the more reason for a fish meeting to stir our interest back up. The clubs that do take a break at times take a month or two to get back fully into the rhythm. I somtimes think that taking a club break is a bad habit like cigarettes or thumbsucking - hard to break once you've started. And saying that with all sympathy for smokers, thumbsuckers, and club break takers.Originally posted by Kreeger1
Summer months seem to be down months for tanks though...Everyone outside enjoying the weather. Makes perfect sense to me to have a club break then.
Winter everyones inside working on tanks, looking at tanks ect. Fish tank season I'd call it
IMO
