Next fish!

I am wondering what fish i should get next!

Currently in tank:
2 O. Clowns
1 Chromis
1 Lawnmower blenny
1 One-spot foxface
1 cleaner shrimp (other one died somehow :( possibly while trying to molt? he ate fine that morning, and that night was gone)
some CUC

Other fish on the list
Flame angel-(wouldnt want to add till i get some corals in there)
Bannerfish-(the reefsafe kind, if i can ever find one)
maybe a tang (tomini or purple tang, also read that powder browns can go in a 75, but not sure if there would be enough room for a tang with the foxface)
maybe a wrasse, but tank isnt covered in anyway
(wont get both a bannerfish and a tang, one or the other!)

tank currently has no corals in it (still waiting on my frogspawn liveaquaria!) but it probably wont get too many corals in it, going to be a LPS tank

also open to suggestions for other fish

just wondering but why would you want to wait for corals to put a flame in? theres a pretty good chance youll get a nipper. If your really considering a reef I would stay away from angels all together. Im not saying you cant find one that wont eat corals but the odds are stacked against you.

i wanted to wait to get a couple of corals in there, so i know if hes a nipper or not. LFS will take them back for full credit within 2 weeks, so if i buy it now without any corals, two weeks would pass and i wouldnt know if he was or wasnt

Also ive changed my mind alot on the flame, at points im like, i dont want to risk it, at other times i want to try it since they look real neat, so it is still undecided if im going to try one or not

How about a Royal Gramma? They are beautiful fish, fairly peaceful, (though they defend their little holes in the LR vigorously) and quite hardy.

foxface gets pretty big and eats like a pig, I'd probably nix any tang in that size setup with the foxface already, pretty messy for a reef tank. but if you do chose it, stick with a Ctenochaetus tang (like the Kole), they'll stay smaller and arent the swimmers the Acanthurus would be (like the powder brown).

never had one but have heard they are not peaceful at all, and will terrorize other fish.

I vote to give the flame angel a try. They usually nip at LR if they nip, imo. if he does start nipping at your corals though, you won't know until after a while assuming you're QTing! (you should always QT for at least 4 weeks imo).

if you decide against the flame angel my next fish choice would be a tomini tang. always QT.

if not them, I would go sixline wrasse. They can be somewhat aggressive but he's your last fish so he should be intimidated once he gets in and things should be fine. i like the personality of sixlines.

ALWAYS QT!

I've had Royal Grammas in every tank I've owned. They care only about their little section of the reef, in which they hide and sleep. They swim cautiously in the tank otherwise and leave other fish alone. If a fish happens to peek into the RG's hole, it will dart out to scare it away, but that's the only thing close to aggression I've seen from them. I'd say they are one of the easiest fish to keep in the hobby, based on my experience.

6line or firefish.

I had my Fire only jump once while i was cleaning. He actually hit my chest then went carpet surfing. It was preet funny (he was fine).

I dont worry about $15 fish jumping too much. Im just very careful to keep an eye on him when in cleaning the tank now.

ok, so with your help im considering adding these

firefish or royal gamma (maybe a sandsifter instead)
bannerfish or sixline
flame angel

I dont think that would be overloading the tank, would it?

Does your tank have a cover? Both Firefish and Flame Angelfish can jump out of the tank. I bought a beautiful Flame which jumped three days after I bought it. I found it dried up on the carpet the next morning.
