Next Meeting

I heard Mel ask but didn't hear if anyone volunteered for the next meeting.

If nobody did, now is the chance. Also, if you prefer to volunteer for a future meeting it would be nice to get a couple scheduled ahead of time. Let us know if/when is good for you.

Meetings don't have to be at someone's house who has an established tank. If you are planning an upgrade, or a change, or have problems with your tank, having the club come take a look could help with immediate advice and/or opinions from many people. example; if you are wanting to install a closed loop, we could do it with you during the meeting and use that as our topic of discussion. Another "topic" mentioned a couple times at the meeting is float switches for auto-top off system.

No one wants to host??

Come on you new people! It's really easy...clean the house, clean the tank (or not), and make a main dish. Then just sit back and let people bring you tons of food. You don't even have to do a presentation. Someone else can do that for us!

if my house was big enough i would, but its really small. about 1000sq ft. we would be packed in here like sardines

There is no way that my house is bigger than 100o sq feet. We WERE packed in there like sardines. It's still fun, especially given that it's nearing spring and people would likely be able to be outside too.

Give it some thought...AND ALL THE REST OF YOU TOO!

I will offer to host a meeting, but I don't know if everyone would want to travel to Cleveland. It's about 75 miles from your house Mel. I would like to host a meeting when I am going to make a big change to my tank like Don suggested. And get some help/advise from all you pro's. Like maybe toward the end of summer when I add a sump and refugium and tie in an auto top off with ro/di.

Cumon', someone "local"... I'll do June BBQ theme but we need April ASAP! (June, July, august, etc). Without naming names, there are some locals who have never hosted or rarely hosted (in my 2 yrs). Pls help the club and volunteer if you can.

Patrick, we will/should get out to your place but I've spoken to you personally and you will probably benefit more if we come out to your place when your ready to start upgrading in a couple months. BUT, THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

I'd be up for a meeting at Patrick's too when he and the club are ready, even though it's about 115 miles from me  Hey, it was definitely worth it to make the trip out to Dave Steven's place, and that was quite a trip for those not from W. Knox.

I will host another meeting too, but I thought I'd wait a little while before volunteering again.

We could always have one in a public place again (like the library meeting we did a while ago). I think we'd need to arrange topics for discussion or some "activity" though for a meeting like that to be interesting for everyone.

Let's see...let's see...who can we pick on.

What about Eric (never hosted!), Julie (not in a bit), John Lindsey (never hosted, shame on you!), Shane (never hosted but fairly new), Donny (lives in a dorm room so we can't really blame him), Mike H. (never hosted), plus all you new people who joined in the last two months! Larry, Mike G., Jeff, Nathan (didn't list the ones who are kinda far out).

So...sorry...but this is basically all you will ever get harassed about being in this club. We can't really have meetings if no one volunteers or we can try to have it at the library or some other public place again (but it's a LOT nicer at someone's house).

It might be nice to try a neutral spot like the pizza place that was next to the old Coral Reef location. That was my first meeting. I was brave enough to attend because it wasn't at somebody's house. Sure, I love seeing everybody's tanks. But occasionally a neutral spot might be good to get "shy" people like me to show up.

Yeah...we do have them in a neutral location sometimes and it's been a good long while since we have done that.

That pizza place is gone, isn't it? Or did they rebuild it? There's always that Mr. Gatti's by papermill and kingston intersection. The food sucks but I know we can book a party room (I think for free), plus there's a buffet (of not too good pizza I know).

Anyone have any suggestions for places we could meet like that (with a separate room but not one like the Italian Market where we had to have a separate menu because there were so many of us)?

I wonder if Mancino's would let us meet in that part off to the right side, not a buffet but good pizza/grinders/calzones that are ready pretty quick.

Mancino's makes great pizza. I just ate there for lunch today. If we go at a non-peak time, they might let us have that room if we agree to buy pizza. :)
