Ok I know we had started a thread awile back about this but lets start to plan one so we can pencil it on our calenders.

I think we are going to I-Falls right?

How does the 20th of April sound??? it is a Sunday at 12:00pm

And maybe we can do some sort of DIY project like frag plugs?? any ideas??

Garrett

sundays will always be tuff for me, we are catholic and my daughter has curch school every sunday but the first sunday of each month. We dont get out until noon. I am sure i can skip for the meeting but garret you can explain it to katie!!

Oh sure make me be the bad guy!!!That way she can be mad at me!!! Good thinking!!

Well maybe we can have it on a Sat???Just have to see what everyone thinks?

Either Saturday or Sunday is fine for me, just NOT the first weekend in April...sorry Andre'! Alex will hopefully be wrestling at the state tournament that weekend. I like the idea of frag plugs for a DIY project.

I think Saturday would work for me as well. The only Sat that doesn't work for me is April 5th. Sunday would be hard for us too unless it was a little later. We get out of church at 10:30ish but might have to drop kids off somewhere afterward.

Frag plugs is a great topic. Can we frag again too? I think many people left before we actually got to it at my place and they are related topics. ??

We can probably do it Saturday, I'll have to check at work but it should be alright. My parents are coming back from vacation in about a month so I'm hoping we can get the tank stand built and nice looking before the meeting instead of just looking at a big tank on the floor.

If it is alright with Tiffany and James we can have it on the 19th of april at noon!! and we will try and do a frag plug..so if anyone has any ideas or web sites that have frag plug plan check them out.

I'm marking the calendar as well,..... I have a bunch of scrap acrylic, any diy'ers need any? in 1/8", 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4". most of it is around 13"x12" with some long skinnies and short fatties mixed in. wait,.... that sounds kind of funny, let me know and I can cut to your size prior to the meeting, good stuff for bubble traps, baffles, that kind of stuff.

Is it the 19th of April then in I-Falls (the coldest place in the USA)??

Hope you make it Beaner, I'd like to meet you finally.

As far as I know the 19th is the time and I-Falls is the place. I found a recipe for frag plugs. Would that be an ok DIY project for us??

So who will for sure can make it??

Do you have a link to the frag plugs?? Make a list of the items needed so people can aid in getting the stuff.

What sand are we going to use?? Baby bottle nipples are going to get expensive, it's gonna take a bunch to cure them. The Portland Cement is the easy one to get a hold of. I will do some research this weekend to see what the latest and greatest is and report back. I'd hate to use the wrong materials from outdated information and have club members tanks' fouling.

We need to remember that adding reef plugs is just like adding live rock. You need to let it cure before you add it to the tank. Most commercial reef plug companies recommend you DON'T add more than "x amount" of plugs per week/month, etc... I have used the waste water from my RO/DI system in the past to "weather" my plugs and rock. Or I have even put them in the tank of the toilet. A constant flushing of even tap water is good. Some of my friends in Florida will place them in a bucket and stick them outside. Rainstorms occur frequently in the spring/summer.

If anyone is the least bit handy with a drill press, we could make our own "Club Mold" out of Renwood or something as dense. I have some experience with making these things and have learned a little bit (remmembering is the problem!!)....
