Just a little bit, but I like the XMs better. IMO

XM10k? I won't run those because I don't want to supplement with vho or t5 and I think the color is horrible on the 10k in my opinion.

I run 20k XM/400mh with 2 VHO actinics. I had the 10k at first, didn't like it, it was to bright, so I switched to the 20k

PFO Standard XM20k
PAR 242

Coralvue XM20k
PAR 257

I do like the xm20k's though. I love the color of the 15k but their par is very very bad.

Back to the topic. I still think Atlantis has the best selection of Rics available in town. As for online I am very wary of the ability a camera and lighting to influence how a coral looks. Nothing like picking the Ric you want.

rics have fluctuated in price it seems and they are looking to get lower as the months have passed. I have gots some from diffrent sources and have ordered some from liverocksandmore and will see what they look like. $5-$8 a polyp is a good price right now.

totaled I paid OTD was about $7 for a rock with 9 polyps. It was a mixture of orange, blue and green. all florida rics. Very nice stuff at liverocksandmore. And hey, with gas prices as they are, I dont mind having them delivered to my door.

Oh yea and Per Polyp is in bold. I think it is safe to assume they are not going to send you multiple rics for the price of one. But if you believe that there is this bridge in Brooklyn that I am thinking of selling. Any takers?

Don't forget the $5.00 packing charge & the $50.00 minimum order plus shipping. Then they will email you the price on the shipping charges. But you save money on gas.

They did email me prices and it was better then the website. You should try it out. Its a great deal and no money on gas. straigt to my door mounted and all. I bought some other stuff so $50 was not a problem. They are great and good to Florida residents.

I appreciate you sharing your experience, but it is not like ordering a specific acro or paly. The Ric you see may or may not be the one you get. If they have better prices they should put them on the site. I would hate to be at the mercy of their gererosity and still not know what frag I am getting until it is on my doorstep.

Its wysiwyg. They sent me a picture of the mouted rock and the zoos I was ordering. You place the order and in a day they send you an email confirmation of what you get and the shipping costs. I am not into acros or palys , ppe or rpe on any level. You cant compare ric or soft related corals to SPS. SPS in person is more of a good plan for the money. But in this hobby, you hae to try things. I researched the website and all it had to offer. If it doesnt turn out like I think it will, I will look other places. As far as posting prices on the site, I am not sure. I am not a business owner, but if I was and someone lived a general closer distance to me and may be a repeat customer, I would specicfically give him a sweeter deal. Hopefully this is the case. I am sure and I know that other people around the country are buying rics from him at the website price. Its just business.

Yes, I know that. If the On-line stores beats the LFS then good on them. Its business. I am not one to go one way or the other. But I give everyone a chance at the right price. JMO, but its nice to see prices displayed such as bio-reef and others with online stores. It doesnt give me a cumfy feeling about prices when they are not displayed. JMO

I know that! Just my opinion. I shop mostly at Oceanreef as its by my house and sometimes pet creations by my job and neither are the best prices. Been to Bio-reef several times and its a nice store. I don't take anything away from anybody. Everyone has to make a living. Not trying to be negetive as it may sound. truce called:)

I hear you on not posting prices....very annoying. I was recently in a shop that does not post prices and starting asking about prices of various coral...how about this one, how bout this one, etc. After asking about a few coral, I went back to the first one and said "how much was this one again". Remarkably it went up by 15.00 since when I first asked...I am sure it was accidental or maybe I was mistaken about the original quote...but nonetheless very annoying. I too have had good success with mail order coral, especially when it is WYSIWYG.

I ordered corals online once. WYSIWYG was not what I got. Colors never lived up. Not worth the risk to me. I do buy some dry goods online, but buy all fish, corals etc. from the local boys. They "all" do me right. Atlantis, Bio-Reef and Fish Maniac are very good to me. I only get out to Robs every 2 or 3 of months, but he still gives me good deals. He "gave" me my first acro (still one of the nicest in my tank). All of the lfs should thank him for that. They (including Ocean Reef) have all donated to my school tank in one way or another. I have called on them many times for help, and they have come through. I can't get that at an online store.
