Hey all,

My friend is moving and asked me if I wanted his niger trigger, Not sure if I can take him so...could use a little help. Just want to make sure the trigger will be fine with the other fish, In my 90 gallon now is a naso tang, blue tang, mated pair of maroon clowns, sailfin tang, emperor angelfish, lawnmower blenny. I also have softie's in there. I will be setting up a 125 gallon in the near future. but need to know if I can take the trigger now.

Thanks
EJ

Even a 125gal. reef wont be big enough for half of the fish you already have.

Pass on the Niger, as it will get bigger than all of your other fish.

You could pull it off for a while, but it depends on the size of it to begin with. 3-5 inch, you could, 6+ then you'll be adding unnecessary stress, plus a 3-5" one isn't that hard to find again if down the road you wake up one morning NEEDING a niger trigger.

I would say try to find a bigger tank than the 125. You are upgrading to a tank that is probably too small for the fish you have now, let alone the trigger. You can get a deal on a used tank thats big if you search the local paper or for sale area of reef central or local reef club.

I agree, I'm in a 135, but it won't last if you have multiple large fish, I am begining to see the light of the 240 and being 8' long and 2' wide....It will make all of the difference, and besides, once you're into a 125, the cost of equipment won't be too much more, $400 or so, and in this hobby, $400 isn't going far for the good equipment.

upgrade to a 200 gallon and you should be fine with him. all those fish wont be happy together in a 125. I agree with danorth, pass on him till you have an appropriate tank. Niger's are very common and it wont be hard to get when if you feel you need to have one in the future.

guess I'm passing on the trigger. I wish I could do a 200 gal or better, don't have the room. plus I'm getting the 110 for free...
