Nikon - 6.1MP Digital SLR Camera - Black

any thoughts? this will be my 1st camera and i want ot take pictures of the tank and the inhabitants. i dont know anything about these types of cameras and know that my point and shoot is just not cutting it.

i iwll do a search but i would like to see some pictures of what this camera can do..... please please let me know what you think..

DSLR lingo -
6.1 MP Nikon doesn't tell us a whole lot. Model numbers please. The Nikon D40 is the closes I can think of and its 6.0 MP if you want to count tenths.
Black doesn't tell us anything. I don't know of any DSLR that doesn't come in black. Some of the cheap ones have a silver option.

Oh neat one of my friends has (or had?) a D50, that's a pretty old camera though. I haven't seen him use it in years.

The D40, D70s, D50, and D100 are all 6.1MP....... which one exactly do you need help with?

I suggest borrowing a DSLR from someone (or maybe rent one) and play with it for a couple of days..then we'll start from there.

I have a D50 and it's an excellent camera. Better than the D40 in my opinion because it has an auto focus motor and bracketing, which the D40 and D60 lack.
