nikon cool pix 4300 help!!

hi..I am sure my nikon cool pix 4300 does more than i am using it for..I just can not figure out how to take awsome shots!! ANyone use this out there? I can't specifically seem to take cool actinic shots..I have tried white balance everything..I am old school manual photographer and soo embarassed but cant take these good shots i want to save my life...any tricks? u can see my pics at

see my problem? i even bought a tripod for the close up scenic shaking problem!! sigh any suggestions are appretiated!! THANKS..oh i have read the whole manual and looked online lol
 
Something I noticed is that it looks like you were shooting at an angle into the tank. The glass/acryllic will distort the picture if you do that- try to shoot squarely into the tank to minimize the distortion, especially on close-ups because the problem is worse the closer you are to the tank. Using a tripod is great. Keep an eye on shutter speeds- if they get slow you may need to turn your pumps off to get rid of blurriness altogether.
