I dunno, maybe I was bored or something...but it didn't come out too bad for a closeup pic with an old point and shoot + magnifying glass.

lol....I'm not exactly sure on this camera. It's not exactly high tech capable, and I'm kind of camera dense too. I was just surprised at how well the pic came out. I did the close up in the camera itself, but the original pic came out pretty nice. Better than what I can get without the magnifying glass. I need a better camera, but have no idea what to get. I'd like to go SLR and learn more about photography, but there's no way I can afford what they want for those lenses. There's a Canon Powershot G9 coming out that's supposed to have a lot of nice features in a P&S that I was kind of looking at. At any rate, I was just messing around with this pic...

I think its a pretty good photo for a camera that I assume is obsolete. If only some online sites that sell coral could take photos that well. I'm gonna have to try the magnifying glass technique. I never really thought of that.

Be aware, the zoas in the pic are only a few inches away from the glass in the tank. I tried taking another picture of an SPS coral that was only a couple inches farther away and the results were not nearly as good. The noise in that picture is at least partially because I blew it up multiple times in my camera and then saved that picture. I did nothing else to it because I don't have any picture altering software on my computer.
