Nikon D70

She'll like the lens, I was going to buy the Nikor Micro 105mm AFS VRII, it's kinda pricey, but I simply couldn't get my hands on one, so I made do with the Sigma and have been doing so ever since.

Thanks for the compliment! :)

OK I got the Nikon AF 60 Macro. Seems like a very good lens. I have taken a few clicks in AF mode and they appear to be passable. The detail is certainly very very good with this lens. Camera store is offering a free class on photography. Its been a few years since I used a 35 mm manual camera. Should I go or should I just shoot and shoot and experiment and experiment?

Macro photography is difficult to master, the free class wouldn't hurt, they'll probably be covering the basics ... so decide for yourself. Macro photography is all about light and managing your depth of field.

Here are some i took tonight with the new Macro Lens.

Look at the evil eye on that Mandarin. Dont you know some pod is just crapping his pants!

LMAO

Nice job Steve! :)

Looks like you're enjoying the new glass ...

thanks astrogazer this lens awesome i cant wait till this weekend when i have more time to learn how to use it better.
ReefArtist i have had the mandarin for 4 years, my goal when i start it the tank was to have a lot of L/R so i could keep a mandarin & now he eats frozen food + pods :)

That is awesome - 4 years! I’m just starting out on my reef tank and the Mandarin has always been my favorite. I kept a Mandarin in the mid 80’s and lets just say I’ve learned a lot since then â€"œ I hope.

Bump your ISO up to be able to get a higher shutter speed. I also noticed that you kept the DOF pretty shallow on these. Was this due to lighting?

i'll try that thanks.
i have not played with the DOF yet so im guessing it's do to the lighting, i just try to focus as close as i can to the subject & i forget about the DOF.
