All,
I have a Nikon d70s and an SB-600 flash. I do a lot of aquarium macro work with a 60mm. I am thinking about getting a Nikon SC-29 sync cord so I can use the SB-600 flash off-camera. I would either hand hold it or use a Stroboframe that I have from my old film camera. I like the idea that the SC-29 has an AF illuminator built in to it. Will this set up help me avoid flash back off the glass, and allow me to overcome the shading of the lens barrel when taking close-ups with the flash on the camera?
I don't think the camera's "commander mode" will do the trick because the built-in flash would fire, triggering the SB-600 held off to one side - but I don't want the glare from the built-in flash in the first place.....
Thanks,
Jay Hemdal
