nitrates - sugar

your skimmate improved because you added something extra to the tank. put in sugar skim out sugar. it changes before it gets pulled out in many different forms but it's only natural you would get more skimmate. as far as making the skimmer more efficient I don't think that is the case. I tried vodka and many other products. I still have some of them I need to sell thanks for reminding me.

almost everything is gone so it's good. we may get something smaller and easier to deal with. nothing above 60 gallons. we are going to play awhile first though.
I never had detectable nitrates to begin with i was just trying to obtain another level above what I did before. should have just been patient and left all the snake oils to others.
