If anyone in the Northern New Jersey area is suffering from overcrowding and needs to free up some space I am interested.

I inherited a 210 gallon established tank. Transported live rock, water, sand, everything I could as is by the prior owner.

Set up with home made T5 lighting system(3 white, 4 blue and a red bulb)
(Again...new to this so bear with me.)

Have a 50 gallon sump.

Have the RO/DI system set up and have been going for a few weeks now.

Any corals would be appreciated.

I only have the live rock with minimal purple coraline and 3 clowns and a blue damsel.

nothing?

nothing?

Hmmm, Noone in the Dumont area that has any extra soft corals to get me going?

Anyone suggest some easy to maintain corals that may grow quickly. So I can start to populate the tank.

zoa's are hearty and come in nice colors.
Shrooms also, though they tend to spread often where you dont want them.
i would stay away from pom pom xenia and green star polyps, as theyll take over your tank eventually. IMO.

A good idea is to find someone breaking down a setup. Usually scores a good deal if buying bunch of things. Cheaper than most lfs
Btw. I work in Ridgefield park- not too far from you

there is a guy on craigslist selling a ton of stuff- has been for a awhile might find some frag deals from him. Looks like he is in Glen Rock

Thanks for all the feedback. Been holding off aggressively adding them at the moment. pH, nitrite, nitrate and ammonia holding steady. so been a good month thus far. BUT I do want to re-do the sump/refugium before adding new corals. Think the Zoas are my first option...AND like the idea of offering for people breaking down tanks.

I do have 2 more questions.
#1. I purchased a new Skimmer. Reef Octopus 150 Internal.
It was purchased used so I looked up the manual online.
It states to have the water 6 to 10 inches deep as long as it is not covering the water discharge outlet. The outlet it about 9-10 inches high (which is below the waterline indicator in the skimmer body, but above the 9 inch discharge outlet.

Question #1: Can I lengthen the discharge outlet height or do I have to raise the actual skimmer and pump 2-3 inches off the bottom?

Question #2. I currently have 2 drilled return bulkheads in my 40 gallon sump.
One is hooped to a 1500 gph external pump.
That one has GREAT return rate and pressure to the display tank.

The other goes through an Eheim canister filter and back to the display tank.

I just re-worked a UV sterilizer and want to stick that in my sump series somewhere.

Question #2: Would it make sense to use second 1500 gph pump I may have access to for cheap for the second return AND THEN
Question 2a... THEN run the intake of the Eheim canister from somewhere in the sump through the canister...through the UV sterilizer, back to the sump or actual display(which would be better?)
I like back to the sump as less tubes in the display.
