No flow change with 7092 controller.

Roger,

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or I am misunderstanding what the 7092 is capable of, or maybe it's just defective.

I have two 6105's hooked up to the 7092 controller. I have moved the jumper to Inverse position (2) I have also set pots 4 and 4a to 100 % and the other 30%, I also tried vice versa on these pots. I do have the 4 light active and watching the controller I see the light beside pot 4 go on for about 8 seconds then off and the light by pot 4a comes on for about 8 seconds then off. I have made a crude but effective flow metering device. My problem is there is no change of water flow for either pump they are both constantly at one flow rate. I can unplug the controller and the pumps do not change from when the controller was plugged in, only one constant speed.

1. Does the pot connected to the pumps where you plug in the controller need to be in any certain position? I have tried moving them in all positions.

2. Am I correct in thinking that when the controller is set up the way I have it, the master pump will be on say 100% and the slave will be at 30% for 8 to 10 seconds. Then I will have the inverse output of the pumps for the next 8 to 10 seconds?

3. Is it possible this controller just defective?

Thanks in advance
Mark

1) When you use a controller this absolutely must be at 100% power, this adjustment is only used when no controller is used.

2) Yes.

3) Possible but not likely, we very rarely see controller issues, if the potentiometer on the pump is turned down, this can cause all sorts of problems. Also be sure the cables are firmly connected, a loose connection will definitely cause this.

Double check the jumper setting and for the sake of argument try the default synchronous setting, if a pin is not making contact, that could also be a cause.
