no growth and pastel color

I guess that's what you get for having low tanks and chairs to climb on. Haha. Are you sure you didn't put the fish stick in there around 4:20. Haha...jk. :P

I would have eaten it at that time. LMAO though because that is what Deja said. that RP is colored up fairly well, just need to get the polyps out.

I'll get a pic for you tomorrow, just noticed the polyps peeking out. It has a nice green shimmer with reddish brown on top. Give it a few weeks and I bet it will be colorful, so long as I can keep foreign objects out of my tank.

That is due to the low light you have in your tank, I have high light so mine will be red. LMAO. Wife said it was brownish red, but the polyps were about to fall out after the pappone was in the tank.

i dose the old Pappone' everyday. and I never see a change in any of my corals PE. Also remember that the frag I gave you was in as low of light as I could put it...and my glued colony is mid level in the tank. The frag improved faster than the glued colony...so maybe its becasue of how dim your light is. ;P

remember that your main light is higher than mine and it's point source...as are the LEDs you have...mine is blasted with light from all angles the whole time the light is on...that's why our stuff grows differently.

Pics coming in like a few min...

here are some before and after pics from almost a month ago (jan. 30th) and then yesterday (feb. 21st).

Boy that got your attention, I find it hard to believe even after all this time that 6 40w t5s are more than a 400w halide, especially with 4 PAR38. If I had an extra 300 bucks I would by the apogee just to find out. If you can rent one for a reasonable price let me know so we can see. Glad to hear you are feeding regularly, let me know when you need more.

Hmmm, I'm kinda depressed. I just did a 20g water change on a 60g tank. (the tank in question on this thread). The no3 was 15ppm (about) before the WC. After the WC the no3 is at least 20ppm.

The corals look better, and the tank in general looks better, also I checked old pics and I can see the new growth on many corals that had seemed to stop growing. But its annoying that the no3 has gone UP...

Any ideas? Should I just do more WC's?
Don't be too riled up about nitrate levels. Bear in mind that phosphate levels are more critical to coral colouration and growth.

I suggest that you do another 20-30 gallon water change with the same salt and salinity and use a decent test kit like a Salifert to check your levels again.

Also, continue to closely examine your coral coloration and signs of growth.

the FRAG of rainbow you see is the actual BIG colony...it just keeps growing like a weed...I just want the color to deepen. The rainbow I showed close up was the initial frag I made of the rainbow as soon as I got it. It has done well in that spot too wich is slightly higher up, mid level like the RP.

BTW frank...I''m interested in maybe using the NEW batch of pappone' to see if I get better results. remember mine is over a year old. And I just recently liquified it to dose easier. I'm betting that a newer/fresher batch would do better in the tank for food.

that and more fish...grrr...I wish we had a LFS.

Nextwave is just around the corner, there is a pack of pappone in the freezer for you whenever you want it. Tank is looking good

I would like to but right now life is busy with the two kiddos. Only thing I would really want to do is go through the stuff for sale, those lectures will put me straight to sleep. Are ya'll headed down next week?

Yeah we are gonna have a full day. Gonna head down there and do the whole reef thing all day till its over ay 6, and then I have to RUSH home and play a gig that the band has at 9 at "the road map". So its gonna be like my dream day, reef all day and then jam all night and drink. Haha. I'm gonna sleep all day Sunday though.

Wish I had the energy/ability to do all that with ya. Deja works on the weekends so I get to watch the kiddo's. Not to mention I don't know if I would have room for anything at the moment other than a frag or two.
