I have no polyp extension on my 4 acro frags. My birdnest, monti and orange digi all have good extension and growth and all of my lps and zoas are doing great. I do weekly 10% water changes and did a 30 percent 3 days ago with no visible change. No fish are nipping at them ( only 2 clowns, mandarin, falco hawk, 3 firefish and a yellow clown goby). Im relatively new to sps and would great appreciate any input.

I might be were you have them placed the closer to the lights the shorter they are that's been my experience but im no expert

All of the acros were dipped and I have been checking for pests religiously. I haven't noticed the goby nipping them, but will keep a close eye on him. Thank you for your response.

How's the flow and the salinity? Sometimes you will get very little PE with lack of flow. Also some SPS don't show PE that much during the daytime and really extend at night, but even then you should still see some PE.

Salinity is.at a.constant 1.025. They are currently sitting on a frag on the front glass and I have tried moving them with nothing changing. Polyp extension at night is nearly nothing.

Try feeding the tank more. Not just fish food, but coral food or AA. IME acros need food in the water column to induce PE. Just my experience...

How is the color on your sps? How often do you feed your fish? Are you using GFO? What lighting do you have?

[UOTE=outssider;23158928]clown gobies can live off of sps. They don't need food from you. Ask me how I know...[/QUOTE]

My buddy made the mistake of putting one in his 90 and every single acro stopped showing polyps within a week or 2. He was having a hell of a time trying to catch it. I told him to bait a hook with a piece of acro LOL.

My acro has no PE during the photoperiod but after dark, when I shine a flashlight over it I see 1/4" PE on them. Also, not sure if this coincides with anything else but my acro's PE has been crazy since I added acro power to my tank.

Thanks for the response, I really do appreciate the insight from everyone. I do target feed them reef roids once a week and their color is good. Sounds like I might need to evict a fish.

I actually baited a trap with two of his favorite frags that he had been assaulting. After the frags were in the trap, he stopped pestering them and their polyps returned. I left the trap in the tank long enough for it to collect coralline algae and he never did go in the trap !!

I have tried to assassinate him using a lazer :uzi: but he hides in some huge colonies when I attempt to zap him.
