no power, no generator

I have no power and no generator. Last tim e I looked at the tank (earlier this morning before going to a friend's house) the tank was at 72 degrees, not good. I placed blankets around it to hopefully help keep it at least at that. How long can the fish and coral live at that temperature and with no air supply? It is a 72 gallon bowfront.

If there is no air I am suprised the fish are not dead.
Get a air bubbler immediatly.
The corals will be fine at 75 for about 2 days with out showing much suffering.

Now your bacteria will be effected at the low temps.
It will be best to get a heater and venturi power head going asap.

At the very least get something like a coffee can and fill it up and dump it back in numerous times to create some oxygen. When roy's power was out we did that every 15 minutes with a plastic folgers can

they have air bubblers that don't require electricity to run them
Yes

Can you get a power inverter for your car enough to run a Heater and small power head? sell for $50-100

if you have a gas stove heat up water in water bottles or a gallon milk jug? or heat up water on your BBQ grill???

Sports athourity in the fishing section had/ or has the battery operated bubblers. they are used for live wells.. if not bass pro would have them no doubt! and they only are around 20 bucks.

I got an airbubbler yesterday and placed in tank. I am at a friends house so not sure how they are doing, going to go check on them soon, I feel the cold might not allow my fish to survive overnight, I wish I would have checked this again yesterday to find info about the inverter and the person ioffering to use his generator. I will pick up the generator today if I don't get power back, hope everythign survived the night, I placed tons of blankets over the aquarium to hopefully help keep it from dropping down too low, I'll find out if it worked when i get home soon

I just got my power back on. 37 hours without power and my house is 50 degrees! I only have one little damsel in my tank and he is actually hanging in there with 50 degree water. What a trooper!

Wal-mart also carries the inverters.
No power since Thurs. night 8:30pm 20 gallons of gas,8 gallons of kerosene and still no power as of 12:00 sat. night, everything seems to be doing ok so far.
