No UPS No Fish

Definitely QTing all fish just didn't know if people mix DD fish w/ lfs fish in the same QT. Was already planning on 21 day QT. Do you guys preemptively treat or wait and treat symptoms only.

just watch your ammonia level more fish means more waste faster rise of ammonia in a bare tank. i just killed 1200 worth of fish putting them in a 40 breeder cause i wasn't paying attention to the ammonia level.

I will. I have a mature sponge filter, new sponge getting seeded, a hunk of live rock to help seed the new sponge, and a Santa Monica surf2. If I see anything to treat I'll pull the live rock, but do you treat with the sponge filters still in there?

i always treat. i don't trust visuals since you can't see it visually. I will treat everything no matter the source. I see it this way sometimes you can't see someone carrying a disease until it's too late.

Get everyone eating and in the QT then treat? Or set up a Hospital tank for treating then back into the QT?

Also I keep looking at your 210. I love the width X height but wish it was longer for some extra gallons. Did you sell or reuse the base and canopy?

reuse base. I can get it bigger as the wife said no. She oked the same dimensions with starfire glass. It'll be delivered tomorrow. i just wish i didn't put my achilles, purple, lineatus and flame wrasse into the smaller QT and forgot about tracking my ammonia.

the achilles is about 6 inchs , purple is 6 inches, the lineatus was 5" Super male and the flame was a 4.5 super male so yeah almost 1200.

I do tank transfer method

I do tank transfer method

well, I will definitely recommend tank transfer method to get rid/prevent ich from entering your display. ALSO, you can combine it with praziquantel to get rid of flukes. I won't get the fish snywhere near my display without these two. But even after all these, there is a chance for velvet or brook, so it is best to watch the fish for a month after tank transfer method. Only after this, I will take my fish to the display. Also, quarantine all your inverts in a separate tank for two months before taking it to your display. Ich cysts can be on them and will hatch in your display if you introduce them before two months quarantine. Let the cysts hatch in your quarantine and not in your display. So the quarantine tank for the inverts should not have any fish and it is a good idea to keep the quarantine fish tank without any inverts in them.
ich is a pain in the a..........

I was reading through my notes from previous late night RC reading and remembered I decided on a 12 week quarantine. Once my DT is filled and running with sand and live rock I was going to buy all my inverts and let them live in the fishless DT for 12 weeks.
