Hey guys, just got a 150watts MH retro kit from Dr. Lamp at www.illuming.com. but i turned it on and it has this weird noise coming out from the ballast? what is going on? i can't find a better word to describe this noise. it is kind of a high pitch noise... humming kind of noise. damn it.. it is driving me nut. I ordered the 14K phoenix bulb.. but it is not that blue at all. kind of crispy white. does your ballast make any noise at all? have anyone every order the 150watt kit from the same seller?? oh yeah, how long do i have to turn it on before it is fully break in? i compare the 150watt with my old 70watts, the 150watts isn't that much brighter that all. it is only been turned on for like 3 hours.

thanks.

Hey,

I can't answer your questions but am interested in the outcome here.

I'm looking at that same package. It seems like a great deal, but you're making me a little worried about putting up the cash.

Keep us updated.

good luck.

Well i am not saying that his products are bad but i am just wondering if there is something wrong with this ballast or all 150watts ballast are like that. i only have one so i can't compare with the other. does anyone else have a aromat 150watts also? does your run absolutely quiet or it make some little noise? how long does your get? mine get pretty hot after couple hours running. i can touch it and pull my finger back right away. i wouldn't want to place my finger on it for more than 10 second.

please share your experiences if you do have the 150w aromat ballast..
thanks.

I have had a few MH set ups, and most ballast's do have a small hum coming from them. I really wouldnt be too alarmed..

In regards to your question about the bulb being fully breakin in...Most MH bulbs take up to 100 hours of operation time to fully develop the spectrum of light they will constantly stay at. until then, the spectrum will change have small changes from time to time..

Good luck!
