Noise from Stream 6100

Hi,

I've had a 6100 for a couple of weeks now. Instead of making less sound as stated in the manual it is making more. It sounds like a fast knocking. Thats the best description I can accomplish with my english. I have dismantled it and found no broken pieces. The ceramics on the impeller has a few brown color dots on it, which can not be removed. I tried to clean it as thoroughly I could with a soft brush. It didn't help though. The sound it makes is pretty unacceptable.

Thanks for any help. It's really nice to have this Tunze forum. Is there any restrictions for foreign users?

The Stream makes a wonderful flow, an excellent product :)

No restrictions! Anyway, important things to consider regarding any noise- the pumps are pretested for noise before they leave. Frequent cause of noise-

Cold water- below 18C
Missing or damaged brake shoes
Air inside drive unit if positioned near surface
Top ring of impeller assembly crooked
Red vibration dampner ring missing at bottom of unit
Debris inside brake shoes or drive unit

I would fully dissassemble all parts and inspect them throroughly

The brown spots on the magnet are likely just from where the magnet was shipped on bubble wrap material to the factory. This seems to leave a mark on the magnets- it is normal.
