Noise level on 1074 outlet?

Greetings,

I would like to hear from someone running the 1074 outlet.

How noisy is it? I mean, it does not seem to have any silencing mechanism built in. I understand the Tunze pipework cuts down on water movement sounds, but surely there is some gurgling from the overflow itself - the normal drain effect? If you were to turn off other noisy equipment like your skimmer and run the overflow near capacity, could you hear it from 1 ft away? How about 2 ft away?

Also, the new Tunze units come with clear inlet piping and black casing. The 1074 that I am looking at has clear inlet piping, but green piping where the clear inlet connects to the black case. Is this normal?

Yes, it will eventually be clear but they are still using up older parts. They are soundproofed by a dense foam and don't make much noise at all if you observe the recommended flow rate.
