noise problem with Eheim pump

I recently bought a Ehiem 1262 pump from Marinedepot website on 01/15. After I received it, I found it is not sealed. I think it is open box. When I run it last week, it has a big noise. The noise is coming from pimp itself, and I am very sure it is not from vibration. Looks like it is defective one. I sent email to marinedepot, and did not get reply. I just wonder if I still can return this pump or exchange a new one? What email address should I contact?

Thank you for your post, I apologize you did not get a reply email. Noise is a very subjective matter it does not always mean the pump is defective. Have you trouble shot the problem with Eheim or with one of our Reps? You may contact Eheim to further trouble shoot the problem at 514 624 2229. They may be able to send you a replacement or any replacement parts that may be needed if the pump is defective. You mentioned that you feel that the pump may have been used or it was an open box. I can assure you that we do not send out any used items from our warehouse, if you thought it had already been opened or used previously you should have been able to contact us before you had used the pump. On your packing slip there is a 72 hour window clause to report any damages or losses from your order.
