Got my Tunze 9012 today, it have only been running for 6 hours, but it´s extremely noisy, got 66 db next to tank and 58 db 10 feet from tank, is this normal and will it get quiet after break in period?

Is anything visibly loose? We have had issues with shipping damage where the pump comes loose inside. Are you sure the water level is correct and it is not struggling for water, water only enters from the surface skimmer. If the pump and everything are in place and intact, then likely the needlewheel is the issue, it may be out of balance. What country are you in?

took the skimmer apart now, Everything seems ok, water level is according to the manual, tried to change it a bit, but no difference. i live in sweden.

The looseness you show in the video is normal, for AC pumps it is necessary for the magnet to get a start spinning before it has the resistance of the impeller, propeller or needlewheel, the only exception is with rare earth impeller magnet or a motor with capacitor to give a "boost" to the start up.

The needlewheel is out of balance and should be replaced, either the hole in the middle is not round or it is off center. I would write to Tunze in Germany, info at tunze dot com.

Got answer from Matthias singer tunze germany today, they said the sound is normal and should get quiet after 2-3 weeks. Can´t imagine it will get that mutch quieter, but i have to w8 and see.

In the manual there is a bushing and a attenuation disk (3005.740) were are they suppose to be? i guess 1 of them is the ring in the bottom of motor block (9012.015), but the bigger ring, is that suppose to be between the needlewheel (9012.047)and impeller cover (9012.042)?

Mattias singer wrote back to me now and said the noise was not normal, he was gonna send me a new drive unit=) but im still conserned about the bushings, i cant see the bigger one on the pump.

It is one disk, it is between 9012.047 at bottom of the shaft and the motor, the black plastic disk is inside the blue rubber disk and the blue rubber is a cushion to absorb noise and the black disk is a hard surface that the 9012.047 bottom is in contact with, since it will wear in time it can be replaced.
