Nominations and Election

It is time for ETRC Board of Directors elections. Nominations will start today, September 1. Nomination time will be open through September 10th. Voting will take place after the nominations (September 11-17). The new BOD will be announced and take office at/during the September Club meeting.

Member of the club = someone who has paid their dues for the September 2010-August 2011 year.

If you are a member of the club, you may nominate any member of the club for a BOD office. The BOD consists of:

President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer

NOTE: If you are nominated for one of the BOD offices and you are not willing/able to serve on the BOD, please, make that fact known.

If nobody has nominated you, and you have a desire to serve on the BOD, YES, you may nominate yourself.

If you need/want to pay your dues, PM me.
 
Is if ok for a person to nominate themselves, or to ask somebody to nominate them? The reason I ask is because it would be good to know who wanted to do it or was willing to do it.

I can post a list of those who are members for the 2010-2011 year if it would help. Lots of people who I think are wanting to be members have not paid.

What makes you so sure about that Joel??? After all I did just return from a trip to MACNA.......

As for the nomination, I appreciate it, but have to decline do to circumstances beyond my control!

Due to the fact that I am going back to school in a very demanding curriculum I don't think I would be able to do as good of a job as president or vice president as someone else could. I would, however, feel fine accepting the nomination for treasurer.

Thank you for the nomination Janie, I am honored. If I win I promise new soft drinks in the cafeteria vending machines and The Rolling Stones will play our Prom. But seriously I would love to be VP. I plan on having a lot more free time this coming year to work on the tanks and help out with Club related activities.

Trimax? There was a hint of indication at the last meeting that he wouldn't be the next president. I wasn't sure whether to take that as being humble or if he didn't want to do it again. Eddie??


Oh, and while it's on my mind, thanks to all that currently hold these positions. I know I'm new, but I'm pleased with the club members (including elected persons), and am glad to be a member. In other words, thanks to everybody for their part!

So far, this is how I have deciphered who has been nominated. Some folks have asked to be removed. So, that has been reflected in the list. If I had made a mistake, please PM me. Thanks

I would be a terrible treasurer - hate bills, receipts etc.; nomination respectfully declined.
Secretary is something I could do.

I think bluestarfish was nominated for both treasurer and secretary.
 
I second everything Spencer (Engloid) said. I'm also new, but have been really pleased with the little I have seen. I won't actually be voting as I am not familiar enough to actually make an educated decision but as far as I know things seem great thus far.

Thanks Joel for keeping an eye out but I declined for Treasurer also. No you didn't over look it, I did it in PM. Oh and I would like to add my election for President.... ME....no just kidding. Please don't put me on there, I like the nominations the way they are. :)
 
I don't feel qualified to vote since I just joined last month, but those of the nominees that I met seem like they would all be excellent choices. I hope by next year I will know you all well enough to vote.
