Nominations for SCMAS Board of Directors.

We will be conducting a two week nominations thread for an interim Board of Directors. There are to be five officers to be elected and they are outlined in the recently posted bylaws. I ask that nominations be made responsibly and professionally. The nominations are for each position and should be made clear in the post who is being nominated and for what position.

Also in this thread, if you are nominated it is your responsibility to accept or decline the nomination. Anyone who does not do this will automatically be taken out of the voting process.

There will be a two week nomination period (04/10-04/24) and a two week voting period (04/25-05/09). The rules for voting will be posted in the voting thread at the appropriate time.:)
 
Who are the board members now? And why do we need interim members? Do they not want to keep their positions? You guys make this too complicated! And they say women are difficult - sheesh!
 
The people who have been running this club have been actively doing so for quite some time now. We have had our share of growing pains with rules and such, so this is the solution. The bylaws would not work very effectively if there was nobody official to look after them. If anyone doesn't want to be involved in this process then by all means abstain.
 
The by laws are necessary so the proper expectations are carried out, and those who have served on the board for a longtime, can move aside if they choose. It just solidifies the club, and gives it some structure while also keeping it informal. It's getting too big to move forward without some framework in place...now everyone knows their role, and the potential roles they may play in the growth and sustaining of the SCMAS.

so those are the ppl who are currently on the board right now correct....if thats the case who is trying to run for the current positions. Is it just someone being nominated or have ppl signed up to run for certain positions. Sorry im just wonderin!
 
The people on the board now do not have designated offices (except murf-treasurer). This is a brand new process that needs to be done to uphold the bylaws.

wow us two at the top...i couldnt even imagine......two ballers at the top.
 
You have to be a member of SCMAS before you guys can be even considered for a position on the board Kevin. I know you post a lot on the forum but technically, you are not a member. You have to attend 2 meetings with in a years period in order to be a member.
