Non sticky bubble tips

hey all,

I recently picked up two small green bubble tip clones from another reefer. from what he said they're less than 10 days old currently. I acclimated them to my tank, and they seem to be happy (tips are bubbled, and they aren't moving anymore)- they actually choose a spot close together. Anyways, I tried to feed them krill, and brine and they didn't seem to pick up any of either of those foods. Then I lightly touched some of the tentacles, and they just retracted, didn't sting me or anything.

Do young clones take time to start being sticky?? Do I just need to wait before they adjust to my tank??

Parameters:
Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia: 0
SG: 1.026
temp: 78-79

Let me know what I should do, or if I should be worried. Thanks

my giant gbta took a month to get real sticky tentacles. that could be though that i have 72watt PC's. give it some time =). probably still aclimating to your new tank.

does anyone else have any advice here? Should I worry about force feeding it, or just wait it out?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don't force feed. Wait.
Go get some Frozen San Francisco Bay brand Silversides. Cut about a quarter of a fish for each GBTA and thaw the pieces in a cup of tank water. Try that for food.

My RBTA never liked krill.

NO! NO SILVERSIDES... Well at least yet :)

Feed them a bit of mysis each day and don't give them any more than they will eat and after a few weeks you can start feeding them a bit more. How big are they? Don't feed them anything other than brine/mysis shrimp until they are 3". Good Luck! ;)

They're 2 inches across at the most. They're still not sticky, should I try to get some mysis right in next to the mouth, or wait until the tentacles turn sticky?? Also, no sure if it matters, but from what I can tell the mouth isn't actually in the center of the nem.

Thanks for all the input,
Tim

my bta's eat but they don't feel sticky when i touch them. give it some time. i waited about a month before i even tried to feed mine.

Good news, everyone. They started eating P.E. Mysis, and they look a ton better. I'm not worried anymore, the seem to be settled in just fine now.

Thanks,
Tim
