Non-working temp probe

got a used Profilux II plus last night, got the pH probe calibrated and test, and it seems to work ok. but, temp reads at 40 degree celsius. I have tried unplugging it and plugged it back it, but still the same thing.

is there something that I can do other than replacing the probe?

Probe has likely been damaged.
