How often do you feed your anemone.

I will be going out of town for a few days, and tank will be left by itself...just curious is i should feed more frequently in leu of me leaving...

Stability is the key to success. Just make sure you feed it before you leave. Don't make the portion any bigger than usual.

What else is in your tank?
Fortunately, nems don't require daily feedings. We usually only target feed ours once every few weeks. Other than that, it may get some flakes or things when we feed the fish, but nothing significant.
I would think that as long as your nem is healthy and in good conditions you should be fine.

Well is someone going to be feeding the fish? If they are and you have clowns in the tank and that are hosting they will feed the anemone, at least mine do when i feed them. So good luck, but dont sweat it, if you are just leaving for a few days, just feed it the day you go and you should be fine.

I personally would never rely on a clown to feed a nem. My clown actualy steals from the nem.

The nem should be fine for a few days without food.

I have seen clowns shove fish into an anemone before.

I have heard many people say their clowns feed the nems. But I have to protect mine while it eats. If I don't within a few minutes I find it at the base of the rock, being eaten by the open brain, or laying in the sand against the rock. I have witnessed my perc pull out a silverside that was already half inside the nem a few too many times.

My clowns do both feed and take it and eat it, sometimes they take it and give it to another anenome.

Feeding every other week or so I target them directly.

R.
