Nor'easter coming. Generator ready.

I'll take this blizzard all day over the tornadoes and hurricane you guys have down south. :)

+1, even after being flooded by Hurricane Irene and beat up again by Sandy. There are only a couple parts of the world that I'd be willing to call "home" and for now I'll stick with this one, snow and all.
BTW. I just heard that we've been downgraded to about a foot, the worst will be further north. Good luck up there.

I'm ready

getting pretty windy here in Westchester NY

right now wee have about 8" and the rate of snow fall has really picked up since 7PM

my generator saved the day (and tank) when Sandy took out power to our area for a week this past fall.

You guy's be safe.

I ran a no a/c service call today down here in upstate SC.

You guy's and gal's can have all that snow up there in the north!!!!

pic of driveway is what fell overnight since I used the snow blower end of day yesterday to remove 6-7" that had fallen during the day.

When I went to bed last night around 10:30, there may have been 6 " in some spots. Couldn't really tell due to drifting. This morning, my wife's Ford Focis ts completely buried from the drifting snow. When se got up, I told her if she cleans off her car, I'll go to dunkin. Of course, that was before she looked outside. My chocolate lab was having a blast out there this morning. He was completelt buried in some spots. Apart from the drifting, I'd say we have 2' out there, and a few more hours to go. Thankfully, we still have power (knock on wood).

How is everyone else in my area fairing?

To keep this on a tank related course, I did get my sump in and equipment cleaned and some fresh nsw started.

As typical New Englangers we expect the worst and, well, expect the worst,

Out my front door to my deck.
Don't look at the small amout that was behind the door. The wind blew that out.
Look at the amount on the deck.Easily over 2 1/2 ft.
And it's still coming down hard.I'll take more when I get outside.

I'd say we ended up with about 16" around here. The winds never reached anything near blizzard force and we never lost power. Even the fish slept through most of it.

yea.. we got screwed here in the Albany area!!! started with 20" then went to 18" then went to 16" ... there is only 6" outside :sad1:

I was soooo excited to finally get some real snow around here!!! :bounce3: its been years since NY had some real snow.. ohs well....

I do feel for the rest of you closer to the Ocean!!! you guys got pounded!!! and its not over for you yet! :( then once the snow passes.. you guys have to worry about 80mph winds!!! WOW!!! now that I am not upset about not having!!!!

Sending Warm Thoughts to You, your Families & Fishies & Pets!!!! :bounce3:

I live in CT and I can't believe we didn't lose power. We are always the first to lose it. Sometimes we will be the only people on the street to lose power. Anyway we must have gotten over 2 feet including drifts. The snow is over but the town dosen't think that our actual street will get cleared until sunday. Oh well I'll just have to stare at my tank more. By the way when you guys talk about Eddies are you talking about Eddies Aquarium Center? I've been there a couple of times
