Nori high in phosphate?

I seem to notice that when I feed more Nori my tank seems to get a little algae.

Is there any truth to Nori adding more phosphate to the water than other foods?

I have tested before and after and yes they will put po4 into the water. Did this after i noticed that i would have to cleam my glass the next day or more when I fed my fish the nori. I do feed 1 whole sheet a day though.hth

I kinda wondered that same thing about frozen shrimp. The HA in the refugium always seemed to pick up after a feeding with this stuff.

Nori and all algae grown for this hobby are fed plant fertilizer which contains a ton of phosphates as far as I know.

Phosphate is the most abundant intracellular anion among plants and animals--everything has a fair amount of it when broken down.
