I decided to go with the ACIII Pro and 5 expansion packs to control all 4 of my tanks (2 frags, 600 gallon, 150 gallon). Talked to scott this afternoon and he will be building me a Eco-Cooler tower with computer fans. Now its time to focus on livestock!!

I have that same setup with 5 x DC4HD and 1 x DC8, all for my display. He's got a nice little add-on box for extra probes, like for a calcium reactor, as well as a cool little I/O for float switches, alarms, etc.

There are some interesting little quirks to the Neptune system, but I would guess you had to get the ACIII Pro just to handle all the code for multiple tanks.

LMK if you want help with setup, code etc. Curt is EXTREMELY helpful both in his forum as well as on the phone. Probably the best in the business IMO.

I would go with a profulix

will they control tunzes? i have heard from a couple of reefers that the neptune aquasurf controller is awesome. it can control the tunzes in just about any way you can think of. i hear its much better than the tunze controller.

The AquaSurf is a Super Set compared to the Tunze controller. Much, much better control, plus it's tied into your system so you can not only make any code you want, but you can monitor and control them remotely. Better feedback IMO.

yeah it does controll tunzes it is by far my favorite controller i have had and I have had alot lol. Including AC's

I'm with Tanya on the profilux controller. I was going to buy the ACIII pro but i change my mind and go with the profilux....

Well, mine were done by Dahn, but here are pics for you to see. And I am serious when I say this makes a HUGE difference in this pump's performance and reliability.

These pics are OK and I could put you in touch with him. You could also search RC for the thread where he went through this step-by-step.

That looks like it would help. I did mods to mine, but another route....
1) I cut that tube out, that restricts some of the flow
2) I cut evert 3rd rib out, so it can suck in more water
3) I cut the tip of the exhaust off so it is more broad. Cutting the tip makes you lose that crosshair grate, to protect the fish. So I put that checker patterned cover over my end.

Mine work great. I especially liked the 3rd mod, cutting the end off. It totally takes away from any concentration of flow, and disperses it nicely.

Kinda weird you had problems with the reliability, John. The only problems Ive had were the cheap C clamps holding them. And in one year, my shaft broke on one of the heads (waiting for that to be replaced). It really does seem like you get what you pay for...

The stands are powdercoated. I have not had any problems with the frag stands as of yet with paint. The reason I chose to go with the ACIII Pro was the flexibilty to do anything and control everything. The more research I did, the more it pointed to neptune.

I just placed an order for 760 pounds of sand from Drs Foster and Smith. I also ordered some miracle mud for the refugium. I am going to drain the 600 on friday (has been running for few weeks on just freshwater for testing and pump break in). I will then add the sand and start mixing saltwater for the initial cycling.

Couple Updates:

I have around 500lbs of sand in the 600 gallon. I am waiting for the water to clear up a bit to get some good photos. I am thinking I will need about 100lbs more to get the effect I want as well as cover up all the CL plumbing. Once I get all the sand arranged I will let it be for a week or so and then add some chromis to get a bioload and help cure the rock.

The SPS frag tank had FINALLY stablized and the corals are starting to come around. This tank is close to 2 months behind the LPS/Softy tank and they went online the same day. I will slowly add some more coral to the SPS tank that will be transferred to the 600 gallon in a couple months (after a full cycle).

Lastly, I am thinking of changing the dimensions of the aggressive tank to 60x24x36T = 225 gallon. I think this will make for a much more unique tank and more area to aquascape.

Is that big enough for an aggressive tank? Seems like with your SW aspirations, the fish you would be interested in might get a bit large for a 225g.
