I would suggest using separate reactors. They have worked out well for me. Much easier to control the flow for each type of media.Originally posted by Reefaquariumnut
Well I finally got the nasty diatom bloom i was waiting for...YES!!! LOL ~
I am doing a 100 gallon water change as we speak (waiting for salt water to circulate in the resevoir tank). That should be around 12% of the total water volume.
Also, I have a question about phosphate...Can I put this in the same reactor as the carbon? I have heard carbon is exhausted much faster. Should I be getting another media reactor?
Hopefully by the end of the week I have the bloom cleared up and I can add corals around mid-Oct.

Hey Jon...My humidity must be getting exported fairly well as I haven't had any rust on the metal in the room. Money well spent thus far on that Air Exchanger!!
Other than Kalk reactors, I've never seen a media reactor for carbon or GFO that has that small of an input.Originally posted by Reefaquariumnut
Do you know of any reactors that have an RO feed line? I want to plumb it into my manifold off the barracuda...How are most models fed?
Sounds like a Kalk reactor to me.Originally posted by Reefaquariumnut
the media reactor Scott built me has a RO in and RO out and has a small Ehiem to help force the water bottom-up.
