Well I finally got the nasty diatom bloom i was waiting for...YES!!! LOL :)~

I am doing a 100 gallon water change as we speak (waiting for salt water to circulate in the resevoir tank). That should be around 12% of the total water volume.

Also, I have a question about phosphate...Can I put this in the same reactor as the carbon? I have heard carbon is exhausted much faster. Should I be getting another media reactor?

Hopefully by the end of the week I have the bloom cleared up and I can add corals around mid-Oct.

many people run them in the same reactor, but I feel this is really dependent on the type of media you use. I don't like to have that much flor over my GFO because I am really trying to keep it from tumbling and breaking up.

I got the light rail from some online plant lighting website. I think I Googled "Lighting track" and found it from there. They were were decent on price too.

I finally got the tank lights up...

I still have some wiring to finish...I am gonna wire in the Ice Cap quick disconnects. They should be here tomorrow and I can take some more pictures. 2400W/600G = Electrical meter moving like the seconds hand on a rolex!! :)

I would suggest using separate reactors. They have worked out well for me. Much easier to control the flow for each type of media.

Hey Jon...My humidity must be getting exported fairly well as I haven't had any rust on the metal in the room. Money well spent thus far on that Air Exchanger!!

When I remodel my tank room I will definitely be looking for this upgrade. :)

Do you know of any reactors that have an RO feed line? I want to plumb it into my manifold off the barracuda...How are most models fed?
Other than Kalk reactors, I've never seen a media reactor for carbon or GFO that has that small of an input.

the media reactor Scott built me has a RO in and RO out and has a small Ehiem to help force the water bottom-up.
Sounds like a Kalk reactor to me.
