I have decided there will be no more equipment visible. I have taken everything off the walls. It will all be hid in the equipment panel on the wall where the frag tanks used to be. I should have that by this week and everything should be done by next weekend. Then I will re-paint one last time, caulk the base parameter around the room, put on a saltwater proof base molding, seal the floor, and then sit back and enjoy!

I did rearrange some of the corals and wedged as many as I could...as tight as i could. I actually got on the snorkel gear and turned off all the pumps...That made it much easier than before. Well, That and no lights over me was the key.

I am so close to done I can taste it!!

I have been using a new glue that works quite well from Specialized Aquatics. I think the web site is being re-done so I guess it's a direct email deal for right now.

The thing I really like about this glue is it's nice and thick, and this top is much easier to use and re-use than any other I have used.

I have never been able to use the two-part putty with any sort of success and it has just ended up getting me all bent.
Any chance it would stick LR to LR - to build structures?

Well, the thing about rock is that it can have algal matter on it, detritus etc. so yes, it would stick "clean" live rock together no problem, but not under the typical conditions we use it...maybe that doesn't make sense?

Size matters too I think, but if I was actually aquascaping, I would drill the rock, and using this glue, insert pegs. If I am just gluing live rock frag bases, I would blow off/brush off the rock, dry the frag base, apply glue, let set up, and then press and hold it against the target rock. This is usually about 10 to 15 seconds to get a good bond. BTW, when I press it onto the rock, the glue is already skinned up, so I press and twist to get good glue contact.

............ and then sit back and enjoy!

You've got to be kidding right. No one just 'sits back and enjoys' for long as there's always fiddling to do (and I'm not talking about playing a musical instrument).

I use a combo of the two part putty and they glue, glue under the putty to the rock and over the putty to the frag. Thats the only thing I've had work long term.

Cheers. The search continues.

Well, I am hoping to get to work on the tank again this weekend. I have a "Structured Wiring Panel" coming on Friday for organizing all the equipment and a more professional look to the room.

The frag tanks will also be filled this weekend and hope to start adding coral frags in the next few weeks. I think I have 2 x 6101's and 1 x 6201 left for flow in those tanks...I am thinking I will need an additional grow-out tank (something around 3' x 4' x 18").

I should have more pictures Saturday.

dave,
you should see some of the corals shaun is getting in now.... they are really nice. I picked up a few of them today that really looked good. I will post some pics on my thread tomorrow.
Your setup is looking better ever day....or i should say weekend!
If you ever decide to do another tank hit me up first I will hook you up with a really sweet deal.
Here is another pic of one I am building.

I heard he got some in...I will probably go look at them when I get back. I also saw he got a black tang...But he wants a crazy price for it

I thought it was priced really high too but when you go to liveaquaria.com they have raised them a lot also....they want $849.99 for the same size. I thought they used to be five hundred!

gem tanks are the 2K fish. Blacks the price can be all over the place. I have seen them from 350 - 900 depending on the supplier and guarantee...

They are the same shape as a yellow so it is likely they will fight. But you might be able to get away with it if they determine dominance then leave each other alone. Depends on how many yellows you have too...

With the size of Dave's tank they would more than likely be just fine as he has many different areas to hide and lots of realestate in the tank to let the fish each have it's own little place in heaven...:)
